Prof. Dong-Wook Kim is a professor of the Department of Physics at Ewha Womans University, Korea. He received his B.S. (1995), M.S. (1997), and Ph.D. (2001) in Physics from Seoul National University, Korea. He was a senior researcher at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology in Korea (2001-2005) and a visiting scientist at the University of California, San Diego (2003-2005). Among the awards received are the Nano Korea Organizing Committee Chair Award (2014), the Ewha Womans University Outstanding Research Achievement Award (2015), and the Korean Physical Society Applied Physics Research Award (2018). He has published over 200 journal papers. He also co-invented 9 US patents on nanofabrication and nonvolatile memory technologies. His research interests include electrical transport investigations of photovoltaic devices, nanoscopic characterizations using Kelvin probe force microscopy, and fabrication of 2D-3D hybrid nanostructures for optoelectronic device applications.
