Professor Dong-Ha Kim is a professor in the Department of Chemistry and Nano Science at Ewha Womans University. His research focuses on polymer-based nanomaterials and hybrid functional materials. He received his Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Massachusetts and the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. He also worked as a senior researcher in the Memory Division of Samsung Electronics, gaining industrial research experience before joining Ewha Womans University in 2006.
Professor Kim’s research centers on the design and synthesis of self-assembled nanostructures based on block copolymers, plasmonic nanostructures, and chiral nanomaterials, with the aim of developing hybrid functional materials with tailored properties. His work spans interdisciplinary applications in energy conversion, optoelectronic devices, and biomedical technologies, including photocatalytic and electrocatalytic systems for sustainable energy, perovskite and organic nanomaterial-based solar cells and light-emitting devices, and nanozyme-based platforms for biosensing and therapeutic applications. Through these efforts, he aims to advance next-generation functional nanomaterials and contribute to the development of sustainable energy and nanotechnology platforms.
